यसै आर्थिक वर्षसम्म सकिसक्नु पर्ने ठेक्का संझैता भएपनि निर्माण कार्यको ठेक्का लिएको ठेकेदार कम्पनिले यहि गतिमा काम गरेको खण्डमा ५ वर्ष भित्र पनि नसकने भन्दे स्थानिय वासिन्दाले चिन्ता व्यक्त गरेका छन्।

सन् १९२७ मा जनरल प्रतापशमंशेर राणाले निर्माण गराएको पाल्पा दरबार २०१५ सालमा राजा महेन्द्र पाल्पा सवारी भएका वखत सरकारी कार्यालय राख्न र दैनिक प्रशाशनिक कार्य यसै दरबारवाट गर्न निर्देशन दिएपछि जिल्ला प्रशाशन, जिल्ला विकास, मालपोत, कोष तथा लेखा नियन्त्रक, राष्ट्रिय अनुसन्धान बिभागसहित प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारीको निवाश राखीएको थियो ।

४ तला, ४ वटा वुर्जा, २ वटा वैठक कक्ष, ६७ वटा कोठा रहेको यस दरबार ध्वस्त भएपछि नेपाल सरकारले भौतिक तथा योजना निर्माण मन्त्रालय, शहरी विकाश तथा भवन निर्माण विभाग डिभिजन कार्यालय पाल्पाद्धारा ५ करोड, ५५ लाख, ७६ हजार, ५ सय ७७ रुपैयामा भुकम्प प्रतिरोधक तवरले निर्माण कार्य सम्पन्न गर्ने ठेक्का लिएको लुम्बिनी प्रकृति रसुवा कम्पनिले दरबारमा आवस्यक पर्ने ठुला साइजको काठको समस्या देखाउदै निर्माणकार्य ढिलाई गरेको हो ।

पुरानैशैलि र सिपमा निर्माण हुन लागेको दरबारको हालसम्म ३५ प्रतिशत पनि काम हुन सकेको छैन भन्दै शहरी विकास तथा भवन निर्माण डिभिजन कार्यालयका प्रमुख तिलकाराम घिमिरे भन्नु हुन्छ- 'ठेकेदारलाइ लिखित, मौखीक रुपमा ताकेता गरेका छौ तर समस्या काठको छ त्यसका लागि आवश्यक पहल गरेका छौ ।'

इट्टा पिसेर सुर्की वनाइ निर्माण गरिन लागेको दरबारको काम कुछुवाको गतिमा वढ्दा दैनिक प्रशाशनिक कार्यमासमेत ढिलाइ भएको छ । यसका लागि छिटो गराउन आवश्यक पहल गरिएको प्रमुख जिल्ला अधिकारी जनराज रेग्मी वताउनु हन्छ ।

उता खुशीको कुरो, टोपी, पछेउरी, चोलीमा मात्र सिमित पाल्पाली ढाका यतिखेर ढाकावाट विभिन्न सामाग्रीहरुको निर्माण हुन लागेपछि ढाकाको माग वढ्न लागेको छ । ढाकाका पारखी एवं प्रयोगी कर्ताको माग र इच्क्षा अनुरुप विभिन्न सामाग्रीहरु निर्माण हुन लागेपछि पाल्पाली ढाका आन्तरिक, विदेशी पर्यटकहरुविच लोकप्रियता वढेको हो । पाल्पा जिल्लामा ढाका उद्यागको इतिहाँस पुरानै भएपनि २०१५ सालबाट उध्योगको रुपमा सुरुभएको हो ।

The Medieval Town of Tansen

Tansen, the capital of Palpa district, is a typical traditional town of Western Nepal located at an altitude of 1372 meters on the southern slope of the Shreenagar hill. The history of Tansen started from around the 11th Century AD when the region was part of the Bara Magarat, the twelve territories administered by the Magar rulers. The town developed as a market centre for the Newari traders and artisans famous for their metal and dhaka (cloth) industry. Tansen is a testament to the living heritage and architecture of the Newari people.

Various ruins can be found from the Sen Period (15th to 18th Century). The compact settlement boasts numerous temples, monastries and sculptures such as the Bhairab Temple, the Purankot Durbar, the Srinagar Durbar (Fort), the Bansha Gopal, the Mukundeshwar Mahadev, the Amar Narayan Temple, the Ran-Ujjeshwari Bhagawati Temple and the Tansen Durbar.

Satements of authenticity and/or integrity

The restoration of the main monuments has been ongoing over the years. The main palace complex and adjacent buildings were destroyed by fire during an armed conflict in January 2006, however these are being restored.  The surrounding town still retains its original character.

Comparison with other similar properties

The Medieval Town of Tansen can be compared to the settlements within the Kathmandu Valley, however of a different significance due to its particular history and location.

Tansen, Nepal

Tansen is a town in the Palpa District of Nepal. It is located at 27°52'0N 83°32'60E with an altitude of 1090 metres (3579 feet).

The former capital of the Magar Kingdom of Tanahun, Tansen is a romantic medieval hill town, perched high above the Kali Gandaki River on the road between Butwal and Pokhara. The narrow winding streets are full of Newari shop-Houses and temples and most of the center is too steep for cars, which all adds up to Tansen's charm. Tansen has been targeted by Maoist on several occasions including a major assault on the Tansen Durbar compound in 2006.

Until the rise of the Shahs, Tanahun was one of the most powerful Kingdoms of Nepal. Troops from Palpa even came close to conquering Katmandu in the 16th century under the leadership of Mukunda sen. The powers of the magars waned in the 18th century and Tansen was reinvented as a Newari Trading post on the trade route between India and Tibet.

Metal working and Dhaka, the fabric used for traditional Nepali Jackets and topis (cloth hats) are still important local industries.
Tansen is a maze of narrow alleys, the main road snakes around the western edge of town. The most important landmark is the octagonal Pavilion in the middle of Sitalpati, the main market square. The town developed as a market centre for the Newari traders and artisans famous for their metal and dhaka (cloth) industry.
