Los Angeles, California- The above quotation applies to the young couple Aka Raj & Neera Pandey who have always shown their giving heart since they came to the USA and started residing in Los Angeles area.

Always with beautiful smile, serving heart, they are seen at each social and religious event, being the first one to be at the event and leaving at the end.

They never seemed tired serving others and giving their time, money, beautiful smile to those who come to them. Their two beautiful children Nirvek and Darshana Pandey are raised in Nepali environment even though they are in the USA. Both the children speak Nepali, have good manners and also have giving heart. It is proved in their home, “It is what you do and not what you preach, makes an impact in your children’s life”.

Aka Raj & Neera Pandey have always donated generously to Shree Pashupatinath Foundation in so many ways since the inception of the Foundation. On July 10, 2011, they donated $111,111.11 which is the biggest donations in the history of Nepali Community in foreign land by one family.

Shreemad Bhagawat Mahapurana had been going on since July 4 to July 10, 2011 and was finally concluded on Sunday, July 10, 2011. There have been some great donors : donating from ONE Penny by Tilak Karki who donated not only money (any amount is great, with great heart) but also his valuable time for all seven days, taking pictures and sending them out to each family, to the donors like Pandey family. Few other generous donors were:

(who also declared to donate 20% Royalty from upcoming CD Album and a Book being published soon)
Engineer Kanhaiya Lal Kayastha- $25,000
(In honor of his parents, in the name of his grandson)

and many other great donors, just to name a few.

During the conclusion program, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Shankar P. Sharma, thanked the organizers over the phone; Mr. Veda B. Joshi spoke about the importance of honoring the commitment; Vice President Shiva Adhikari thanked everybody and recited one of his poems; Punnakhar “Rishi” Dhakal, Program Co-Ordinator of the Mahapurana, read the total fundraise amount and other financial details; Chairman Bhakta Thapa thanked all the wonderful, committed, UNITED volunteers for their selfless effort and Vaachan Prabeen Deen Bandhu Pokhrel presented the certificate of appreciation to the selfless volunteers.

There have been so many wonderful experiences, miraculous donors, happy, energetic volunteers, happy children, their parents and grand parents during the program. When somebody entered the temple, the environment was so positive and happy with people singing spiritual songs, dancing Nepali dance and being so electrified. People could feel as if being in Nepal because of the UNITY seen among all the Board Members, Board Advisors, Community Volunteers and Organizing Committee.

EVERYBODY PRESENT AT THE MAHAPURANA HAD ONE VOICE : “LET’S BUILD NEPALI COMMUNITY CENTER; SHREE PASHUPATINATH TEMPLE AND LORD BUDDHA STUPA IN GREATER LOS ANGELES AREA.”
