Atlanta- His Excellency Ambassador of Nepal to the United Kingdom Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise said that the British Prime Minister David Cameroon and his wife have expressed their interest in visiting Nepal.

The Ambassador mentioned this during the Monthly Telephone Talk Session organized by Nepalese Association in Southeast America (NASeA).  Dr. Chalise said that Her Majesty the Queen have visited Nepal twice but it would be the very first time a British Prime Minister would be visiting Nepal. He also said that one of his priorities is to make such visit happen during his tenure as the Ambassador to the United Kingdom.  “Nepal and UK have been enjoying outstanding bilateral relationship and that the Gorkha soldiers are the cornerstone of the relationship.” Said Ambassador Chalise. In praise of the Nepalese community, ambassador said that no one Nepali in UK took part in the unfortunate riot that rocked the country a few months ago.

Ambassador Chalise recognized the Non Resident Nepalese (NRN) as strategic resource for Nepal and said that, in the current economic climate, where many western economies are hit by recessions, there is unique opportunity to attract the foreign investors in Nepal.  Ambassador Chalise was of the opinion that Western countries, specifically the United Kingdom, were supportive of the Nepalese on going peace and constitution drafting processes. He also expressed his confidence in promulgation of the new constitution sooner than later.

NASeA president Sanjeeb Sapkota welcoming the Ambassador at the talk session said that over the past 18 months NASeA has invited several Nepalese from around the world who have kept the names of Nepal high on top. Personalities including Anuradha Koirala and Ambassador Mudhuban Poudel have spoken live from Nepal and Kuwait respectively during NASeA talk session.  NASeA President Sapkota said that NASeA has used the telephone technology to unite people from around the world be in one place at one time without having to travel. ‘NASeA is one of the leading Nepalese Organization in the United States’ said president Sapkota.
