काठमाडौं- नेपाली अमेरिकन दश बर्षीय बाल कवि हिमांशु कुंवरको संस्मरणको संगालो Colorful Boy हालै काठमाडौंमा सार्बजनिक भएको छ ।

उक्त संस्मरण पुस्तकमा १६ वटा संस्मरणहरु संग्रहित छ । अन्तरराश्ट्रिय नेपाली साहित्य समाज (अनेसास) डिसी प्रकाशक रहेको छ।

कवि कुवरको यस अघी सन् २०१० मा Snow Fall कविता संग्रह प्रकाशित भईसकेकको छ।

उक्त संगालोमाथि बोल्दै डॉ. गाविंदा भट्टराईले 'हिमांशु एक असाधारण बालक हुन् । उनीबाट साहित्यमा ठुलो आशा गर्न सहिन्छ । नेपाली साहित्यलाई बिस्व सामु पुराउन हिमांशु जस्ता बालकको खाचो छ अनि भबिस्यमा नेपालि साहित्य सजिलो गरि पुग्ने छ समुन्द्र पारि' भन्नु भयो ।

बिमोचन गर्दै बाल साहित्य समाजका सभापति रामबाबु सुबेदीले- 'नेपालको संकृति र साहित्यलाई बहिर पुराउन यो देश बहिर बसेका हालका यस्तै हातको योगदान रहने छ' भन्नु भयो ।

बिमल भौकजिले हिमांशु एक प्रतिभावान बालक भएको आफु उनीदेखि सरे प्रभाबित भएको बताउनु भयो ।  कथाकार पुष्कर लोहोनीले- 'आफनो अमेरिका बसाईको क्रममा हिमांशुकोबारेमा चर्चा सुनेको र यहाँ आई बिमोचनमा भेटन मौका पाएकोमा खुसी ब्यक्त गर्नु भयो ।

कार्यकम अनेसास नेपाल च्याप्टरका अध्यक्ष राधेश्याम लेकालीको सभापतित्वमा संपन्न भएको थियो । लेकालीले हामी यो पुस्तक बिमोचन गर्न पाएकोमा कहुसी छौं । नेपाली बालबलिक र अभिभाबककोलागि राम्रो खुराक हुन सक्छ भन्नु भयो ।

हिंमाशुलाई माया ठकुरी, गीता केसरी, रत्न प्रजापति, बाबा बस्नेत, मणि लोहोनी, ठाकुर बेलबासे, मनोज न्यौपाने, छबी रमण सिलवाल, रामेस्वर राउत, गीता पन्त आदीले सुभकामना दिनु भएको थियो ।

I had written a few words on Himanshu's works of beautiful poems last year.

Again Neelam visited Nepal with another creation of   Himanshu this year. He has got a collection of 16 write ups, so beautiful, so pleasant, so elegantly written by a boy of so tender an age.  

I feel surprised to read one of his expressions: for heaven's sake parents should listen to their children

I enjoyed reading them so such, I showed them to my daughters and wife and a couple of students. Actually I want to show them to my university students or read for them. An unimaginable thing he has done. Himanshu is a rare genius, I believe a gem. His language and his insight, his interpretation of things and connection of every event with life and practicality - so sweet and sometimes so unbelievable.

Himanshu has sweet recollections starting from the day he left Nepal and landed at New York, and years that followed, all narrated chronically-- how he got a brother, how grand parents loved him, how he visited placed from Statue of Liberty to Coney Island, and different places in between and finally Disney Land in Florida. He would  visit places, he would demand answer for every query, how honest he is about every mischief he did, how he loves his parents and brother and what an inquisitive mind he has.

This mind will become an extraordinary genius in the days to come. He is gifted with a sharp faculty of imagination and power of writing. Already he has made a valuable contribution on behalf of the second generation people of American Nepali diaspora.

I whole heatedly congratulate this child prodigy -- Himanshu and wait for another marvelous work to read next year. Congratulations to Bhaskarji and Neelam bainee. One among a million parents may be gifted with a Himanshu, believe me.
