Dear ANA Members,

Namaste!

Allow me to introduce the next ANA executive officers team seeking your support and confidence. We are also creating an unprecedented national search committee to offer opportunity and recruit for the next ANA executive leadership team that you will be hearing about shortly. We will talk about our vision and strategy for making ANA dynamic, vibrant, and responsive to the need of the time by seeking direct input from members like you and taking ANA to the new heights, in next communication.

I am married with Neema and have twin sons Elesh and Arnav. Professionally I am in operations management and possess B.S. in CIS, M.S. certificate in Project Management from University of Maryland University College, and Technology Management from Johns Hopkins University. I am the current vice president of ANA and chairperson of 2009 San Francisco Bay Area ANA Convention. I was also chairperson of 2008 Baltimore Convention; ANA general secretary from 2003-2007; Convener of 2002 Washington, D.C. Convention; founding president of Nepali Youth Organization, founding member of DC Athletic Club, and have organized numerous programs and efforts of Nepali community for over a decade.

 

My dedication to Nepali American community has always been important in my life in the past, presently and will continue to be in future. I am not swayed by those who find it easy to comment from the sideline or talk grandly of what is wrong and how to fix it but never participate in the process to see how difficult it is to actually work year after year for incremental changes. Following are some of the tasks that I have undertaken on behalf of ANA.

-Brought committed youth participation through ANA sports since 1997. Today ANA sports is the largest and one of the most important events of annual convention.

-Managed group of diverse D.C. community leaders for ANA convention with introduction of several events including women and children focused activities in 2002

-Implemented latest technology in facilitating ANA functions, including introduction of teleconferencing, social networking, and online infrastructure

-Conceptualized and introduced sub-committee structure to ANA executive committee

-Plus many other major organizational, and minor functional changes.

After careful considerations and due deliberations I have asked the following young and dynamic leaders of Nepali Diaspora to join me in the team to lead the next ANA executive committee. Below are brief introductions.

Medini Adhikari and wife Anju live in Northern Virginia. Medini is a validation engineer by profession with specializations in FDA compliance and software qualification.  Medini holds M.A. in Applied Economics from Minnesota State University and M. S. in Communication Technologies from Strayer University. Medini is currently the General Secretary of ANA and has been serving the organization since 2002 DC Convention.  Medini was executive member of ANA from 2003 to 2007 where he worked as the Sub Committee Chair of Student Affairs. Medini started his service to community as the President of International Student Association of Savannah Tech, Georgia in 1997 and served as executive member of the United Nations Student Club in 1999 while in Minnesota State.  Medini enjoys helping people and loves to create public networking, teaching economics at university, and solving problems. 

Dhiren is married to Samita Ghale and they have one son and one daughter. Dhiren is an IT professional specializing in Data Management and a MBA trainee at University of Dallas. Dhiren has a devoted service to the community as ANA Treasurer (2007-2009), ANA Executive Member (2003-2007), ANA Sports SC Chair (2003-2005), Newah Cultural Association of Texas Advisor, Health and Education for Nepal President (2000-2004), and University of Central Oklahoma Student Leader.

Ajay Dev is married to Peggy and have Kishan who is now 14 months old. Ajay is Civil and Environmental Engineer and received his B.S. and M.S. from California State University at Chico. Ajay works for State of California for Department of Water Resources in Sacramento. Ajay is the current Co-Convener of 2009 ANA San Francisco Bay Area Convention and has been executive member since 2007, and member of Board of Director of Nepalis and Friends Cultural Association (NAFCA), Davis, California; coordinator of Nepal Association of Global Cooperation.

Sirish Bhojpure was born and raised in Kathmandu and is currently residing in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Kripa Shrestha. Sirish graduated from University of Nebraska at Kearney with B.S. in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration. He is currently a manager at Deloitte Consulting and manages ERP Software Implementation and IT Strategy projects. His has served the Nepali community managing numerous events for Rocky Mountain Friends of Nepal, Friends of Nepal at New Jersey, Nepal Wireless - Mahabir Pun's Project and ANA conventions. He has served as ANA Executive Member since 2007 where he chairs the Cultural Sub Committee.
