New York- "Dear friends, in this difficult time of one of the worst disaster of modern age, everyone is coming together and joining hands to help people in Japan.

Nepalis in USA are also equally concerned and trying hard to join hands and do their best. Many of us donated the quickest way we could and few of your organizations are raising funds. The devastation caused in Japan by earthquake and Tsunami is unprecedented, and is colossal. Although Japan is a rich and developed country well prepared to cope with major problems, this time it is truly overwhelming, and Japan has decided to seek foreign assistance.  In times of need, they have helped Nepal and many other nations.

Therefore, we as NRN National Coordination Council of USA reached out to many organizations and few of you generously offered to contribute to a fund to NRN to donate on behalf of Nepali community. Few of you decided to do a fund raising in your local community and send money to NRN and join hands with other organizations and individuals. All of your nice gestures are welcomed.

Should any of you wish to mail your contribution, please send a check in the name of NRNNCC of USA with Japan Relief and your region or organization’s name  in memo  to our treasurer Dr. Binod Shah, 14 Deerhill Ln, Scarsdale, NY 10583."

Appeal for Japan's Earthquake and Symbolic Support

Dear all,

The devastation caused in Japan by earthquake and Tsunami is unprecedented, and is colossal. Although Japan is a rich and developed country well prepared to cope with major problems, this time it is truly overwhelming, and Japan has decided to seek foreign assistance.  In times of need, they have helped Nepal and many other nations.

I suggest that at least symbolically, we in North America NRN NCCs provide some assistance to the earthquake victims in Japan, may be through Red Cross, CARE or other reputable charities. I will be happy to make a small contribution.

There is a very number of Nepali population in Japan. Our International Presidnet of NRN Mr. devman Hirachanji is in Nepal and he sent an email stating he is safe. Howevere many are uncounted. We also were able to get in touch with Dubasu Cetriji at Nepal Embassy.

Therefore, I appeal all of you (community leaders) to join us and help us demonstrate united voice of Nepalese from US and help raise some assistance. I will send out details in my next email later this afternoon. Thank you for your support.
