Nepali New Year 2066 Celebration in Rigdewood, New York PDF Print E-mail

New York, Ridgewood Nepalese Society (RNS) organized the Nepali cultural event on the occasion of Nepali new year 2066 on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Welcome Banquet Hall, Ridgewood, New York.

According to program co-coordinator and treasurer of RNS Milan Shahi, the event was chaired by the former president of RNS Mohan Gaywali and the Permanent Representative and Ambassador of Nepal to the United Nations, Madhu Raman Acharya and 30th District City Council Member Elizabeth Crowley were presented at the event as chief guests.

During the first session of event the newly elected executive committee members of RNS for 2009-2011 was made public. The new committee's office bearers and members are: Shree Parajuli (President), Ravi Kiran Koirala (Vice President), Gajendra Budhathoki( Secretary), Milan Kumar Shahi ( Treasurer), Kishore Bhandari (Member), Kamala Timilsina (Member), Krishna Bista (Member), and Hari Prasad Kafle (Member).

At the event, the founder and former President of RNS, Mohan Gyawali was honored by newly elected President Shree Prajuli for his initiative and leadership role for establishment of RNS.

The event was concluded with colorful Nepali cultural presentation from various Nepalese artists.
