Georgia- Nepalese Association of Southeast America (NASeA) is one of the leading nonprofit organization in North America.

In NASeA’s almost 2 decades old history its first election was held. Many kudos to the five members of the Ad-hoc Committee Chaired by Dr. Bishwa Acharya who worked very hard to conduct the special election in Atlanta, USA on April 24, 2010. Other members of Ad-Hoc Committee were Dr. Ram Chandra Baral, Mr.Chet Nath Ghimire, Mr. Bala Panta and Mr. Shaubhgya Lal Shrestha .

The new 15 member executive committee was sworn in the gala event to celebrate Nepali New Year – 2067. The election was concluded in a very festive mood. Large number of voters participated. As observers, a few well known personalities from Georgia and other states were also present. We are honored to have His Excellency Ambassador of Nepal, Dr. Shankar Sharma and first lady of the Nepali Embassy, Mrs. Kamala Sharma. We are also gratified by the presence of President of ANA, Mr. Simon Dhungana, Senior Vice President of NRN-NCC of USA and President of ANMA, Mr. Mukesh Singh,  Chairman of the by-law Committee of the NRN, Dr. Prahlad Pant and many others. The event was jointly organized by NAG (Nepalese Association of Georgia) and NASeA. It was a milestone in the NASeA’s history.

NASeA is the Southeast American regional organization of Nepalese and friends of Nepal established in 1991. It covers the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. Its main purpose is to bring Nepalese together, promote culture and speak for their interests.

The newly elected President Raja Ghale was humble and echoed the sentiment of the members of the executive committee when he said, "I have committed my time and efforts to social work. My ultimate goal is to see your prosperity with smiling faces. Thus, I humbly implore your good wishes for the dynamic growth and success of the NASeA.”

We would like to thank you for your participation, patience, criticism, and support. The online election process was developed first time in NASeA's history, and it was, we believe, a grand success. Our source of guiding rules and principles for conducting this special election was the NASA-Bye-laws of 1991. There were some technical glitches, they were presented to the general body with solution and voted unanimously. We sincerely believe that NASeA will continue with this online election process and democratic norms in the future and all our members should be able to vote online.

Thank you for the opportunity and trusting us to serve the NASeA community. This concludes our special task. We congratulate all the winning candidates and hope the executive body will move with vigor, togetherness, and in unison for betterment of our community. Happy New Year 2067 and Loktantra Diwas.
